Never a dull moment!

Another busy and fun day at MSI Summer Marine Camp with our Plankton Pioneers, Inland Seas Naturalists, and Underwater Investigators all exploring different aspects of the marine environment from our home base in Redwood City!

blog   Our youngest campers, the Plankton Pioneers learned all about our elasmobranch friends, of today and long ago.  The giant tooth belongs to the now-extinct megalodon, the largest shark we know of!  Our contemporary top fish, the great white shark, has a tooth that looks positively puny compared to it’s ancient relative.

Inland Seas Naturalists took to the water aboard our fleet of canoes.  The winds were low and the tides perfect for getting into the meandering sloughs surrounding Bair Island.

Meanwhile, Underwater Investigators got deep into the science of grey water.  Analyzing the vast array of treatment options currently employed, and then designing their own systems!
