Welcome to camp!

We are excited to welcome another group of campers to MSI. This week we have marine biologists of all ages–entering Kindergarten through 8th grade. They are all going to see some amazing wildlife around the bay area.

This week our Plankton Pioneers will spend 4 day on site with us and one day on our ship. Their schedule is as follows:

Monday:  Introduction Day at MSI—“Splendid Splashers” (whales and sharks)

Tuesday:  At MSI—“Bay Bonanza” (bay fish and invertebrates)

Wednesday:  Discovery Voyage aboard the Robert G. Brownlee (wear close-toed shoes!)

Thursday:  At MSI—“Pacific Party” (ocean fish and invertebrates)

Friday:  At MSI—“Habitat Hunt” (comparison of marine habitats)

 

Our Bay Explorers have an exciting week of field trips ahead of them as they discover the many different habitats of the Bay.

Monday:  Introduction Day at MSI—“Estuary Stewards” (featuring fishing, live animals and games)

Tuesday:  Discovery Voyage aboard the Robert G. Brownlee (wear close-toed shoes!)

Wednesday:  Field Trip— Crab Cove visitor center in Alameda

Thursday:  At MSI—“Water Wonders”

Friday:  Field Trip—Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge in Fremont
