Fall is arguably the most beautiful time of year in the Bay area. Outdoor temperatures are comfortable, and the sun still shines long days.
October 5th is a very busy day for fun activities on the Bay.
MSI is hosting SHARK DAY, between 10am and noon. We’ll be learning about sharks from all over the world, making shark crafts, and of course spending time with our favorite shark of all – the leopard shark! Ever touched a shark, or had a chance to feed one? Now is your chance!
Later the same day, from 1pm ~ 4pm we are conducting a volunteer training for our fish data program. For 43 years, MSI has taken students out on the Bay to learn about its many diverse inhabitants. Our volunteers will help us add to this vitally important research! For more information, visit our web site and contact Aaron if you are interested in attending the training.
Down the street, MSI is going to be participating in Redwood City Portfest! Music, food and other festivities will include four tours of port area aboard our research vessel the Robert G. Brownlee. RSVP here, and save your space for a half hour, $5 tour at either 10:30, 12:30, 2:30 or 3:30pm. Must be 5 to attend.
On Saturday, September 12, MSI has one of our most incredible offerings, a trip aboard a pontoon boat to explore the calm and richly abundant waters of Elkhorn Slough Safari. Every year, MSI joins with this great organization to count hundreds of sea otters, seals, and sea lions. It is a true natural bonanza! Sign up quickly to save your spot! Low Tide Walks and another voyage aboard the Brownlee are also some of the offerings this Fall. We hope you can join us, and enjoy the magical maritime world of the Bay area! Keep checking on our Baylines web page for opportunities like these.
